Trewhiddle Farm is a key strategic site measuring 54 acres on the South West of St Austell in Cornwall. The land is contained within the natural topography and ‘bowl’ of St Austell and is considered an natural expansion for the town, it is immediately adjacent to the existing settlement. Part of the site was previously allocated within the Planning Authority’s Local Plan and this site will play a key role in the growth of the town. The site is accessed directly from the A390, linking St Austell to Truro. The site has the capability to deliver strategic transport improvements, to include a new southern link road. Westcountry Land (St Austell) Ltd has acquired multiple options & land owner agreements, finalised in Summer 2012, in order to consolidate this major land holding and promote the site as a single, holistic masterplan. We have partnered with a regional retail specialist developer and submitted a planning application for a major mixed use development, consisting of commercial, food and non-food retail, residential and leisure, as a truly sustainable development, with key links to the existing town. Planning permission was granted by the Cornwall Council Planning Committee in August 2015.
