The site is located in a prominent position, just north of the A30 and M5 interchange at South West Exeter. The site itself is directly serviced by Chudleigh Road, which leads to the adjoining settlement of Alphington. It is also connected to A379, which connects Exeter with Dawlish and the A38. Westcountry Land have been involved with this project since April 2013. Since that time, they have promoted the site and it was successfully included within the Teignbridge local plan. WCL have secured other land interests in the area, making a combined total of 17 acres. The site has been masterplanned to deliver a total of 220 new homes, as well as the retention and renovation of 5 existing cottages. Teignbridge District Council adopted their local plan in May 2014, which has now formally allocated this site for residential development. A Planning application was submitted in April 2015 and is due for determination by December 2016.
