Plans for 42 new homes in Mawnan Smith refused by Cornwall Council

PLANS for 42 new homes in Mawnan Smith have been turned down by Cornwall Council.  It followed a public meeting on October 2 to discuss the planning application on Goldmartin Field, off Sampys Hill next to Alanco, when the planning committee shared information and listened to public opinion.

The application was refused at the Cornwall Council’s area planning committee meeting on Monday. The outline application, submitted in July, included affordable and open-market homes, a village green and a car park for the Memorial Hall opposite the proposed site.

The scheme was designed by CSA Architects and was reduced in scale from about 50 properties following consultation with villagers.
