Castle View, Mawnan Smith

Westcountry Land & Homes were pleased to be working with the landowner for a third time on this site, located on the south-eastern edge of Castle View Park in Mawnan Smith. The land had previously benefitted from an extant planning consent for six self-build affordable dwellings, granted over ten years ago but never delivered.

Recognising the lack of appetite to bring forward 100% affordable schemes in the current economic climate, Westcountry Land & Homes identified an opportunity to deliver a more balanced scheme. A detailed planning application for four dwellings – two affordable and two open-market – was submitted. Although Cornwall Council refused the application in June 2018, an appeal was lodged and subsequently approved in January 2019.

The site was then sold, and the houses are now complete.
